A short reply to: Comments to Al Jazeera on Libya No-Fly Zone By Steve Clemons
It’s good to see a verbally colourful peacock, Dan Kervick, transubstantiated into a scorpion and stinging the free range ostriches, from Clemons to the two ‘Dons’, not to mention others, who have their heads in the sand on the issue of U.S. intervention in Libya. In view of the high stakes involved in the event of a Gaddafi triumph over the insurgents, it’s politically and strategically insouciant not to see, that a U.S. and European armed engagement contra Gaddafi, would continue fuelling the rebellion against the autocrats of the region and simultaneously strike a deadly blow to Muslim fundamentalists, especially if the rebellion were piloted by the U.S. and its European allies onto the shores of democracy by adroit statecraft and economic help.
Hence the ‘permanent revolution’ of the region by transforming the Middle East could also lead to the decisive defeat of Islamist terror. And American engagement in this pivotal and important goal would also save its superpower prestige from Drew’s omen, of the “reduction of American power to farcical impotence.”

I wondered where your lot had gone! Kotzabasis our resident armchair neocon waving around his remote control from his recliner and screaming “invade invade”. Yeah, and why should we listen to you who I bet has never seen combat in his life, and still doesn’t understand, nor cares that his neocon buddies excursions into the ME always end up as Clusterf*cks… but hey it diverts us from what’s going on in Israel — that’s a plus!

Ostriches burying their heads in the sand is a myth — but watch out, they can kick. Ostriches are also astute and they cannot see how a guerrilla campaign against Gaddafi would defeat Muslim fundamentalism. Expecting some kangaroo justice, are we? Jumping to conclusions? Even joeys know better.

You forget that blind kicks (head in the sand) only kick the air and always miss their aim. And that is why your ‘kick’ too, kicks the air.
